Family Support Strategic Lead

We are delighted to have retained the GCC Children & Family Centre contract for Cheltenham and Tewkesbury and as a result we are seeking to appoint to the new role of Family Support Strategic Lead. The successful candidate will work alongside the Executive Head, Early Years Strategic Lead and the Business Manager, to ensure Aspire can continue to maximise the positive impacts it has on the children and families it works with through partnership working, leadership and innovation.  

Our vision is that children, families and communities are supported to aspire and achieve.

This role will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the teams working to deliver the outcomes specified in the new Children and Family Centre contract. You will also help to develop future opportunities for the Foundation to support its secure long-term and sustainable future.

The successful candidate will have:
• A Level 7 management qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience

• Child development related qualification or experience. E.g., Early Years, Teaching /Diploma in Health/Social Care or equivalent.

Early Years Strategic Lead

Due to exciting growth and expansion within our nurseries in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud & Dursley, we are seeking to appoint to the new role of Early Years Strategic Lead to work alongside the Family Support Strategic Lead and with the Business Manager, to ensure sustainable high quality early years education and care across all seven Early Years settings.

Our vision is for all children and families to aspire and achieve and a child’s wellbeing is at the heart of our provision.

You’ll be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Aspires Early Years provision within our Children and Family centres in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Dursley and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will be qualified to:
• A Level 7 management qualification and/or equivalent relevant experience, and /or willingness to work towards e.g NPQICL, NPQEYL

• A relevant professional Early Years & Child Development related qualification, e.g Early Years Childhood Studies or a related degree, Early Years Teacher status, Early Years Professional Status

Community Family Worker

Aspire Foundation is currently expanding and developing high quality family support services for families with young children to help build confidence, social skills and relationships.

As a Community Family Worker, you will work in partnership with parents and local community-based services to provide expert support and services to ensure children thrive and meet their full potential, through group work and bespoke support for the young children and their families.

The post holder will be required to work at any of the Children and Family Centres operated by Aspire Foundation in Cheltenham and Tewksbury as well as provide outreach work in the community in these areas.

As a member of the Aspire Foundation Team we offer you:

• Support – through termly or six weekly supervisions and an Annual Performance Review.

• Training – on-going continued professional development which could include on the job training, work shadowing, courses and qualifications – all depending on what you need as a person and what the organisation needs now and in the future.

Community Information Administrator

Aspire Foundation is currently expanding and developing high quality family support services for families with young children to help build confidence, social skills and relationships.

As a Community Information Administrator, you will work in partnership with parents and local community-based services to provide a warm and welcoming front of house service to all our service users and visitors.

A key part of the role will be providing efficient and knowledgeable signposting advice.  This will include brief one-off interventions to children, young people and their families such as information about debt advice, issuing of food vouchers, support to complete relevant forms etc.

The post holder will be required to work at any of the Children and Family Centres operated by Aspire Foundation in Cheltenham.

As a member of the Aspire Foundation Team we will offer you:

Early Years Educators

We have an exciting opportunity for qualified Early Years Educators to join all our settings across Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Dursley and Stroud.

We are looking for qualified staff, both full time (37 hours/week) and part-time (20 hours/week) who wish to work Term time only (39 weeks a year). These contracts will be permanent.

Our vision is for all children and families to aspire and achieve. A child’s wellbeing is at the heart of our provision.

Successful qualified candidates will work as Key Person to children aged 2-4 years to deliver high quality early years education. You will be passionate about making a difference and using your understanding of child development to promote each child’s happiness and supporting them to follow their interests, explore, learn and reach their full potential.

You will be a good communicator, who enjoys working with others as part of a team, with knowledge and experience of providing stimulating and exciting environments, rich in learning experiences. You need to be able to tell stories and sing songs, play games, enjoy messy play, and be happy to be outdoors in all weathers.

Grade/Salary: Grade 3 (full time, all-year round equivalent is £23,500.00 pa)  Actual salary (term time only for Level 3 qualified)
1. Full time (37 hours/week, term time only total of 39 weeks): £20,168.00 pa
2. Part-time (20 hours/week, term time only total of 39 weeks): £10,901.00 pa

Hours: Approx. hours for full time staff are 8.30am - 4.30pm. For part time staff we can offer morning or afternoon times.

Clerk to Directors

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Clerk to support the Board of Directors at Aspire Foundation. The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role and/or possibly a school setting previously. They will provide advice and guidance to the Board of Directors on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, whilst also ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Board of Directors.  

You will prepare for meetings, hearings and appeals, taking and distributing minutes/notes etc; ensure all records are maintained and Directors are kept up to date on legal and constitutional matters.

The hours for the role are 50 hours per annum and, you will be expected to attend all Board meetings which take place approximately 5 times each year, primarily from 4pm onwards (Monday to Friday).  Some flexibility required around hours worked.

You will be a good communicator with excellent administration and organisational skills, who enjoys working with others as part of a team.

Volunteers play a significant role in helping us to deliver our services, providing rewarding opportunities for personal and skill development, strengthening work experience and employability.  Support the work of our trained and professional staff by:

  • Helping out at one of our groups,

  • Accompanying children and families on trips,

  • Supporting a fun day at one of our centres

  • Helping out in one of our nurseries.

  • Carrying out Practical Maintenance jobs (opportunities exist from 2 hours per week)
