Aspire workshops

At Aspire Foundation, we offer a range of family‑friendly workshops throughout the year to support parents, carers, and children across Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. These workshops are designed to give families practical tools, emotional insight, and confidence in navigating everyday challenges. Whether you are looking for guidance on communication, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, or strengthening family relationships, our workshops provide a welcoming space to learn, reflect, and connect with others.

Workshops run regularly each quarter and are delivered by experienced practitioners from our Family Support Service. They are part of our wider commitment to providing accessible, high‑quality support as part of the Early Help offer in Gloucestershire. Sessions are informal, interactive, and rooted in evidence‑based approaches that help families feel empowered and supported.

Why Attend an Aspire Workshop?

Families attend our workshops for many different reasons. Some want to understand their child’s behaviour, others want strategies for managing emotions, and many simply appreciate the chance to talk with other parents who are experiencing similar challenges.

Our workshops offer:

Practical strategies you can use straight away

We focus on real‑life tools that help with routines, behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation.

A supportive, non‑judgemental environment

Parents and carers can share experiences, ask questions, and learn at their own pace.

Evidence‑based content

Our workshops draw on proven approaches used in Early Help, child development, and family support.

Connection with other families

Many parents tell us that meeting others helps them feel less isolated and more confident.

Flexible access

Workshops run across different centres, times, and days to make them as accessible as possible.

Whether you are new to Aspire Foundation or already connected through our groups or courses, workshops are a great way to deepen your understanding and build new skills.

Upcoming workshops

Below is information about our current scheduled workshop. New sessions are added throughout the year, so we encourage families to check back regularly or speak to a member of the team for the latest updates.

Managing Emotions Workshop

Children express their emotions in many different ways - sometimes through words, sometimes through behaviour, and sometimes through actions that can feel challenging for parents to understand. Our Managing Emotions Workshop helps parents and carers explore what sits behind children’s feelings and behaviours, and how to support them in developing healthy emotional regulation.

This interactive session is aimed at parents and carers of children under 11 years old and offers:

  • A deeper understanding of why children experience big emotions

  • Practical strategies to help children calm, regulate, and communicate

  • Tips for supporting emotional resilience at home

  • Guidance on responding to challenging behaviour

  • A chance to reflect on your own emotional responses as a parent

Families often tell us that this workshop helps them feel more confident, more patient, and better equipped to support their child’s emotional wellbeing.
